Hi all, I'm a Councillor at Liverpool City Council. A number of you have contacted me about the sale of 1 Sirius Road, Voyager Point.
A house has already been approved and there are significant concerns about the potential for further development to take place on the site.
The entire site includes 10 hectares of prime koala habitat and has significant environmental value. It is also a unique example of an intact wetland ecosystem in Liverpool.
I am committed to protecting this unique piece of the Liverpool’s environment from further development and will be moving a motion to that affect at the upcoming October Council Meeting.
You can help me protect this site by signing my petition at bit.ly/ProtectVP

Despite being zoned E3 for Environmental Protection, 10 hectares of prime koala habitat is now up for sale at Voyager Point.

The NSW Government has committed $millions to purchasing key koala habitat within the Strategic Conservation Area identified in the Draft Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan. But nothing for Lot 1 Voyager Point which, despite its long-recognised ecological significance reflected in E3 zoning, has been left outside the boundary of the SCA. Liverpool Council participated in the CPCP formulation process and must have been aware of this.

Hello all, hope you are keeping well. Reaching out to see if anyone could recommend fruit and veg gardening facebook groups or nurseries that operate for our area (Bankstown). Given Bushcare is still on hold, I'd like to fill the time learning more about growing fruit and veg from the local gardening community.

We can all understand that our local bushland around Picnic Point is used for various recreational purposes but the impacts of some Lockdown activity is seeing an increasing 'use and abuse' of walking tracks through the construction of bike jumps and other earth moving practices. These have a direct impacts on the many smaller species like native orchids that grow mostly along trail edges. It is also sad to see the tree-felling and increased littering that often coincides with these destructive activities.. 😞
