- The council provides a volunteer Bushcare program that encourages residents to get involved in protecting and restoring the natural environment1.
- The council supports the society’s activities by providing training, tools, equipment, plants and supervision for the Bushcare volunteers1.
- The council works with the society to identify and manage priority bushland sites in Bankstown and the Georges River catchment2.
- The council publishes a Bushcare newsletter that features the society’s achievements and updates on environmental issues1.
- The council collaborates with the society to raise community awareness and promote environmental education through events such as Nature Fest3.
